Brian surprises Justin with an anniversary gift that far exceeds expectations.

For Justin, it was all about the ass. A series of College AU vignettes. What started out as what was supposed to be only one vignette for my Wednesday Hump Day challenge spiraled into a drabble collection of it's own.

The funny flipside of Brian's Season 4 line, "Of all the times we've fucked -- and by now it has to be well into the quadruple digits -- that has to rank in the top five." Five times when things didn't quite go as planned...

No one had been more shocked than Brian when Melanie, of all people, had suggested that, since she didn't really celebrate Christmas, but J.R. was heading to Pittsburgh to be with her dads, perhaps Brian and Justin would rather come to Toronto to have a more subdued celebration with Lindsay and Gus.

"Lindsay never really gets to enjoy the decorations she puts up, since we're rushing around and then traveling during this time," Mel had explained. "I just thought it would be nice if you and Justin wanted to come to our place instead… You know, let Linds and Gus go all out, and then have a nice quiet holiday at home." 

"Quiet" was all Brian needed to hear before he agreed.

Well hello, folks.  I know that this story is super late, but a lot of things, many of which were beyond my control, caused the delay.  I hope you will still find it worth waiting for.  This is my entry into the 5 (6) word challenge we were given months ago.  In this story, Justin is still living in NYC, but not so happily.  Not only does he miss Brian, but he is not thrilled with his living situation.  Then one careless accident changes everything.  I owe a huge debt of gratitude to my beta, Judy, for her skills.  Another huge thanks to my granddaughter, Marika, for the evocative banner.  Hugs, Grammy

Brian Kinney is the editor of "Out & Proud," a well-known gay publication. Justin Taylor is a brilliant young journalist working for the same publication and Brian's life partner.  During their ongoing search for new, interesting items to write about, Brian sends Justin to meet with Vic Grassi, who was one of the prominent figures of gay life in the Pitts in the 1970's and 1980's.  Justin is somewhat reluctant to take the assignment at first, but after he learns more about Vic and his fascinating life story —as well as his special bond with Brian — he's more inspired than ever before.

For some reason, being in Pittsburgh always got me thinking about all of the ways in which our lives had changed over the years, and all of the things that added up to make us into who we eventually became -- the version of us that has been married for close to twelve years now.

Brian and Justin take a few days in Pittsburgh to just relax and be with each other. However, with Brian's birthday and the anniversary of his accident fast approaching, there's a lot going on in Brian's head.

This story fits into the "Changed" verse.

Post 513) Brian and Justin begin a new chapter in their lives. I'm affectionately calling this the lost episodes of Season 5.

“Why don’t you let me do the dishes,” Brian offered, which was more normal -- Justin would cook and they would both clean together afterward, just to expedite the task. “You can go take a hot shower,” he added.

“It’s okay,” Justin said, rinsing a plate. “We can get it done faster, and then you can join me in the shower.” 

Brian smirked, clearly interested in that idea. “Thought you might be too tired,” he admitted, starting to dry what Justin had already washed. 

“An hour ago, I probably was… But seems the sight of you in the kitchen has restored my motivation.”

This story fits into the "Changed" verse.

“Who the fuck is calling me now?” Brian muttered as he rubbed his eyes and tried to focus on the clock. It was 2:16 a.m., and this call had better not be a client with some so-called emergency, because Brian had people who were supposed to deal with that, whom he’d hired in an effort to keep late night phone calls from happening. He was more than a little perturbed at having been woken up and was ready to give the person on the other end a piece of his mind, until he saw the caller’s name on the display. It was Rob, and that realization sent Brian’s heart into his throat. Rob was an “early to bed, early to rise” sort of guy, and would definitely not be calling at 2 a.m. unless something was seriously wrong.

Here I go with my first multi-chaptered story in over 3 years.  I really hope you will enjoy it.  Some time ago someone suggested the idea of turning around the series plot involving the Prom bashing 180 degrees, and then seeing what might have happened if it was Brian who was Hobbs' victim rather than Justin.  I found the idea intriguing, so I'm going with it.  Of course there will be drama and angst, but just remember how my stories end up and take heart.  So without delay, here is the beginning of a whole new light on the love story of Brian and Justin.  

But first, of course, I must give my undying appreciation to my dear Judy for her beta help.  And a special appreciation to the very talented and thoughtful Kim (Predec2) for the evocative banner for my story.  I love you girls dearly.

“Sonny Boy--” Brian began, intentionally ignoring Justin’s question.

“--You had no idea why she sent me down,” Gus interrupted, his words more of a statement.

Brian shook his head. “Your mother neglected to inform me of her intentions.”

Lindsay has ulterior motives when she sends Gus for an unscheduled weekend visit with Brian and Justin.

An alternate ending to season two and how Justin and Brian could have avoided the break-up.

Brian and Justin are still madly in love. They have been married over 7 years and have been together for 18. Their children Gus and Brinn are the light of their lives but things are never easy for their family. Drama follows them from Pittsburgh to California but their love will never die.

This was supposed to be oneshot but kind of got out of control. It'll be only two chapters though. Brian and Justin try and trick each other and it doesn't work out for either of them. 

AU: Brian has a nightly visitor and he just can't make any sense of it.

This is loosely based on the short movie "Betrothed" starring Gale Harold.

This is an AU set in a world close to my heart- the world of electronic dance music. In this AU Brian is a successful events management executive and Justin is an elusive and rather mysterious video artist. Brian is used to getting what he wants in this world- and he wants the enigmatic video artist in his company AND in his bed- but for reasons unknown to him, Justin proves resistant on both counts. Features scenes of occasional drug use. 

After talking about it for year Brian and Justin finally are going on their dream vacation.  They were spending three weeks in Milan and Ibiza.  Come along and join then on the streets of Milan and the beaches in Ibiza as they make memories for a lifetime. 

Justin and Brian are enjoying their time in New York City.  How will Brian deal with Justin being on a tour for six months.  

When two men who belong together are forced to be apart there is trouble everywhere.

Although Brian has had little to nothing to do with his mother or sister in well over a decade, his life is changed forever following a surprising call about them from an unexpected source.  Thankfully, he will have his husband, Justin, to help him deal with what is coming.

I would also like to add one special note for this story.  I have been under the mistaken impression for years that Brian was Joan's firstborn.  Thankfully, many of you have straightened me out on this point.  However, it is integral to this story that Brian is the firstborn, so please indulge my twist on this one canon issue.  Thank you.

This is the result. It's set in 2029. I think of this as being loosely Homecoming future, but all that anyone needs to know is that Brian and Justin have been living together in Pittsburgh in a riverside house since Justin's return from New York. Justin and Daphne have a daughter – Dani. Brian, Justin, and Daphne are co-parents, an arrangement which works well for them all. Dani is 16, Gus is 29.

Using the excuse of new accounts, Brian pays Justin a surprise visit on Valentine's Day. Romance is not dead and Brian shows Justin he is capable of romantic gestures.

Slightly older Brian and Justin. They have never met but know that the other exists. Justin accidentally makes Brian fall in love with him over a weekend. This is not a story filled with mooneyes and smooching. This story involves storytelling, Viagra and obsessed Brian.

Almost a decade ago Brian and Justin got married so that Justin would get his green card and could stay in the USA. They haven’t seen each other after they got married and now Justin has found someone he wants to marry for love. There’s only one thing in the way. He’s married to Brian. Now his job is to get Brian sign the divorce papers, which might turn out to be harder than he thought.

The slave trade is alive and well in our AU society.  The community is mostly split half and half on the issue; half of society is for slavery and half is against.  However, Brian Kinney had never put much thought to the subject, despite the fact that his best friend, Michael, and Michael's mother, Deb, were both major players in CAST, a group against the sexual slavery of men and women.  But this all changes when Brian accompanies Michael to a slave auction, where he is introduced to a beautiful 18 year old slave named Justin, just now coming up for bid.  Born a free man, Justin's life was turned upside down when his father sold him into slavery at the tender age of 15, only three years before he was to be sold.  Chaos ensues.
