LATER THAT NIGHT--SEVEN PM

Daphne walked into the Liberty Diner and up to the counter. She gave her order of a ham and cheese sandwich and two lemon bars, to go, to Debbie. As she waited for her order, she saw Michael, Brian, Ben, Emmett, and Ted walk in. They looked like they were dressed for a night at Babylon. After they had sat down, she started walking over to them. She was trying to think of some way to broach the Justin issue with Brian.

"Hey, sweeie," Emmett said when she reached the table. She had just opened her mouth to reply when she heard what they were talking about on the small television that was sitting on the counter. Rushing over to it, she listened as her face grew pale.

The others had followed her, out of curiosity. "What's the matter, Daphne?" asked Ben.

"Th-that's Justin's plane!"

"Once again, the plane that has crashed is a LibertyAir airplane. The plane left Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at four this afternoon, heading for Denver, Colorado. It was in the air for an hour when the tower lost communications. It was confirmed at six, that the plane had went down. As of right now, they do not know how many casualties there are. It is being asked, that if you know anyone on that plane, you get in touch with LibertyAir immediatley." A woman reporter, behind a desk, said. "Now," she added, "in other news..."

Debbie turned the television off as they all stood in shock. Just then, they heard a cell phone ringing.

"Hello?" Daphne answered in a shaky voice. "Jennifer," she said a moment later.

DENVER, COLORADO AIRPORT

"Daphne, have you heard from Justin? I'm here at the airport, waiting on him and the plane is over an hour late."

"Jennifer... are you sitting down?"

Jennifer could tell that Daphne was near tears. Something had happened to her son, she just knew it. "Daphne, what..." Jennifer's voice trailed off as she caught sight of the small television in the corner. They were doing a special news bulletin.

When she realized what they were saying, she almost dropped her cell phone. "Oh my God!" she exclaimed. She could hear Daphne yelling her name through the phone.

"Oh my God! Not my baby!" Jennifer cried as tears flowed feely down her face.
