Wow! What a powerful, emotional continuation of "What do you want for your birthday?" Seven years later, after a year in New York, Justin has really come into his own. The reconnection with Nicholas is sexy, hot, and sweet, even though Justin's heart belongs to Brian.
More, please! I want Brian to reenter the picture, to learn Justin's decision in regard to grad school, more of Nicholas... I know it has been almost 3 years since you've updated but I like the different, fascinating QAF take of this story and really hope you'll continue with it.
Since discovering your stories a couple weeks ago, you've definitely become one of my favorite authors.

Hi, Laura! So good to see you updating again! I've missed your stories; no one can write those steamy scenes like you do, my friend.:) And while you know I'm a dyed-in-the-wool B/J shipper (and I know you are, too), I'm intrigued by this story line. I'm actually toying with a story of my own regarding some serious competition for Justin and Brian's attempts to woo him back after Ep 507 (or is it 6?), so I'll be interested to see where you go with this story of yours. Author's Response: Thanks for the review, comment and opinion. I'm not big on pain and drama either, and whatever angst is in my story is usually resolved within the same chapter or the next chapter, so not a whole lot. I don't want to give anything away, but as far as I'm concerned Brian and Justin will always end up together no matter what happens. My stories will always end with Brian and Justin together and a happy ending! :) I don't know when that will be, but it will get there. And of course the journey is always entertaining, no matter the bumps and obstacles.

so...I started off really wanting to hate this story - there can be no one for Justin but Brian - but then I read...and the concept is titillating
how about Justin mentions to Brian that they met (Justin and Nicholas), and that nothing has happened but he can't promise that it won't
Brian stews over it - pretending of course that he dooesn't care - and then books a flight for NY to see for himself if he still has a chance with Justin
they all end up in bed together - Brian is totally jealous, but of course can't show it
after that - who knows - they end up all three together for awhile, until Brian can't take it any more...and Justin has to choose
more angst - more angst - Brian is hurt - Nicholas seems to have won - but
the boys can never be kept apart forever
loving life

Author's Response: Hey Charle... first of all thanks for the detailed review, and second, thanks for the suggestions for the story line. I love it when readers have an idea where a story should go (I've thought that a few times about other stories and would have loved to be able to voice my opinion on plot). My muse was kind of going in the direction of something between Justin and Nicholas... and of course jealous Brian... cause who doesn't love a jealous/possessive Brian? :) Not sure how long that will last or how much angst there will be, but I like your ideas and, especially (of course, no surprise here) a revisit to the hot threesome they make. :)
As with all my stories, Brian and Justin will always be together, and I believe in happy endings! When life gives me the time to write I will definitely keep your suggestions in mind. In fact I was inspired by a song for a new story... but now that I think about it, it would work perfectly in this story... it would totally fit possible angst and jealous Brian... and also be hot and steamy at the same time.
Anyway, thanks again for the review and suggestions, and I will be finishing this story as soon as I get enough time.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review Linda. I know it's my job as the author to take the reader on the journey, but sometimes readers have an idea where they want a story to go, and I wanted some feedback on that to make my readers even happier. And I know how anxious readers are for the stories to be updated, but RL always gets in the way, and I've been so busy with school that it seems I have no time to write, but I certainly want to respond to reviews.
I will not abandon this story, but please be patient and I will update eventually. As unpromising as that sounds, I promise I will finish this, one day relatively soon.
