The time it took for Brian to decide he couldn't live without Justin at his side and showed up at the airport with a bag and ticket in hand to go to New York with his partner.

This makes sense. I had forgotten about the bombing in relationsjhip to how Brian finally wised up and told Justin how he felt. It should follow that they would have learned that time is too short and not to be wasted. A seperation would have been implausible.
