I'm glad that Justin was the force that finally tamed Michael and sent him away. He aways did think he was far superior when it came to Brian, but Justin was always the one to set him straight.

I enjoyed this story very much. I am anti mikey and quiet happy the jerk killed himself. I find Debbie at fault for not getting her son to grow up and if she needs his toys to remember him she is as stupid as her son.
Author's Response: Know what you mean about the "anti-Mikey" thing. By the end of S5 I could hardly bear to watch any scene with him in it. From where I stand that character had virtually no redeeming features. Every time he turned on those puppy dog eyes I wanted to tear them out of his head and make him eat them.
So yes ... and glad you enjoyed.

This was fantastic... super crazy Michael, and Debbie too... poor wittle Mikey is never culpable for his own actions... even when it was attempted murder!!!! ugh
Author's Response: Thank you. The fact that Mikey was given a free pass from the whole "family" on just about everything - from the despicable way he treated Tracey to the tantrums he threw about Deb and Carl - just drove me nuts. Glad you enjoyed me working out some of that frustration.

This is one of my favorite Halloween Tales. You give us suspense. I love how Justin managed to shed light on the eviless that invaded Brian's loft. That being said, I always felt that Michael's character was malicious. Whether that was the writing or Hal's interpetation of the character I don't know. I've never seen the British version so I can't compare their portrayals. Debbie on the other hand you hit spot on.
Author's Response: Thank you. ITA that Mikey always was malicious. As I frequently point out, right from 101 he lied about Brian "begging" him to come to the hospital. He did it for his own purposes with no regard as to how that would negatively affect Emmett's view of Brian. And I've always figured that wasn't the first time and might explain a lot about Ted and Emmett's attitude to Brian in the early series. Not to mention, of course, how nasty he was to Justin. And how stupidly he behaved - his swerve to "avoid hitting the doggie" could have had serious repercussions if Brian's neck had made contact with the back of the seat in front. Brian could have suffered quite nasty neck or even spinal damage.
It's funny that you mention the Brit version because Vince (the Mikey character) is absolutely my favorite character in that version. He's lovely. Sweet and funny (and much much smarter than Michael). He's a Dr Who geek, but he's not dumb, verging on retarded, the way Michael comes across sometimes.
So no, not sure if it was the writing, or Hal, or a combination (because I seriously wanted to smack that little smirk off Mikey's face from the very first scene and that smirk is pure Hal) but I disliked him in 101 and by about 105 I was a confirmed Mikey hater. And it had nothing to do with my attitude to Brian, or to Brian and Justin, I just found him completely objectionable.

Hope that spooky Mikey is gone for good. Interesting story line and really anti-Michael as you warned/promised.
Author's Response: Yes. Spooky Mikey is definitely gone for good. (Oh, how I wish that had been true in canon. Imagine the emotional impact if he'd died in the bombing.)
Glad that you enjoyed.
